Kathy Basire is a criminal defence lawyer. She completed her legal studies at UC and began her legal career with the Crown Solicitor’s office in Christchurch. Kathy probably knows all the secrets that have passed through the halls in Meremere, the school of law building, because it took "over 20 years to get that law degree.” Raymond Ellwood sat down with Kathy and had a chat about Kathy's time studying, her gravitation towards a legal career and how she navigated lockdown alongside her family as well as upholding expectations from the Court.
